A special room in the basement!

As the Museum of the National Bank of Belgium is only open during the week (Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 17:00), it’s not easy for everyone to plan a visit. That's why we are pleased to announce an exceptional evening opening on Thursday, 23 May! On this occasion, you can admire the museum’s permanent collection free of charge until 22:00.

Come and learn about the history of money, the numismatic collection and many other objects, the role of a central bank, and how euro banknotes are made and secured, in a fabulous setting: a magnificent Eclectic building dating from the 19th century, one that coincidentally was once home to a bank!

In addition to the permanent collection, you can sign up for a guided tour to go behind the scenes. The tour will take you to a special room in our basement. You’ll also be able to discover a number of unique objects from our collection which are not usually on display!
