Wanted: a real Sherlock Holmes

The museum of the National Bank of Belgium is searching for detectives between 7 and 12 years old who could crack the code of our safe like a real Sherlock Holmes.

The museum of the National Bank of Belgium is searching for detectives between 7 and 12 years old who could crack the code of our safe like a real Sherlock Holmes. We found a hidden safe in the basement of the museum, but we don’t know the code of the safe! Will you help us open it and find out what is inside? Do you know suitable candidates who can help us with our mission? Our little investigators must meet some requirements to successfully complete the task:

  1. Experience with time travelling is an asset. Our Sherlocks will not only unravel the mysteries of our euro banknotes, they also have to pay a visit to the ancient Romans and the old Belgians.
  2.  We are searching for critical eyes who can inspect the objects in the museum. Learn how to distinguish real from fake notes at the museum. It prevents you from being framed! And also: a real Sherlock doesn’t get deceived by banknotes with high numbers, because… do they have any value at all?
  3. Our detectives are curious and eager to learn. Which countries pay with euros and what does the life of a banknote look like? These two questions and many more will be answered during the secret mission!

Qualified for this job? Come to the museum and prove that you are a real Sherlock! Brave kids with their parents and groups (school or extracurricular) can join the investigation. Groups must make a reservation, individual visitors and families can participate without a booking.

We will cover all the expenses. Our museum has free entrance! A round trip ticket for your flight to China to discover what commodity money they used to pay with is included.
