Banknotes

Banknotes form the bulk of the National Bank’s numismatic collection. There are more than 25 000 denominations altogether, and – as in the coin collection – a large proportion of the banknotes are Belgian. The other banknotes illustrate the various stages of paper money and the history of finance and economics in general.
