The National Bank of Belgium has a museum in which the theme of “money” is its central feature. It offers a range of interactive and educational displays. This is however the most visible part of what the National Bank has to offer in the educational field.
In the Bank’s museum, you can find out all about the history of different means of payment, the role and significance of money in the economy, the tasks and activities of the National Bank within the European framework, the features of euro banknotes, and, finally, money as a cultural phenomenon.
The museum is mainly targeted at secondary school pupils and provides an illustration of both historical and geographical themes, while also explaining topical subjects and basic economics.
